Yeah, besides the wee beasties who toilet paper your yard, leave candy wrappers everywhere and egg people’s houses…something IMPORTANT?!
Middletown Apocalypse will be released!
Wait…you hadn’t heard? WHAT ROCK HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING UNDER?!?!
Let me tell ya, as one who took part in this little endeavor…it was fun. When I was approached with this project, I wasn’t sure what was going on, but with the other names involved? I knew it would be GOOD. I was in if they’d have me.
Our instructions: Write a zompoc story beginning at Middletown University in Middletown, Indiana and ending at another location. What ever happened between those two points were up to us. We could kill off the whole world or leave survivors in the event we wanted to revisit this small town again.
So, what happens when you give eleven of the best modern-day apocalyptic writers the same idea for a story and allow their twisted imaginations to go wild?
Middletown Apocalypse… that’s what.
Set in America’s heartland, these stories begin with chemistry student Charlie Noble and wind their way through the infected landscape of middletown America.
Abell, Chesser, Evans, McKinney, O’Brien, Rosamilia, Shelman, Stallcup, Tufo, Wallen, Wilburn.
Are you ready this?
Pre-Order your copy NOW!
How did this come to happen? Let the man behind the project tell you in his own words:

If you are a zombie fan, then you KNOW what time it is. The month of May may be Zombie Awareness month, but this JUNE it’s ‘Summer of Zombie Blog Tour 2014′!
Every day in the month of June, one author is chosen to be highlighted and we learn a little something about him or her. What makes them tick, what to look forward to in the near future, what got them where they are now, who they look up to in the field or maybe how they got twisted the way they are. Hopefully it’s something new that you the readers didn’t already know. If you’re a die hard fan, then odds are, you already know the whole back story on all these wonderfully gifted writers. If not, then you have a lot to look forward to.
Next week is my turn. I don’t know yet who I’ll be hosting on my blog, but I sincerely hope to bring you something new and exciting. Armand Rosamilia is hosting the SZBT this year and between the radio shows, the Authors Supporting Our Troops 2014, writing, blogging and saving nuns from burning buses…I honestly don’t know where this guy finds the time to DO what he does?! Secretly, I think he has cloned himself, but don’t tell anybody. I don’t want to start any unfounded rumors…
Check back next week for the author interview HERE! Check in with Facebook at the event, “Summer of Zombie Blog Tour 2014” to find interviews, guest posts, teasers, prizes, cool swag and so much more!
Do you like buffets? You know what I’m talking about. Dozens of different flavors all spread out so that you can sample the things you know you like or if you’re feeling adventurous, you can experiment a little and jump into something new, just to test the waters? Yeah. Buffets are good.
My kids love the Chinese buffet. They know they want Chinese food, but they aren’t sure exactly WHAT they want. The buffet is the perfect answer. They can’t pronounce it, but they know they like ‘chicken on a stick’. Or they want that ‘white stuff crammed into the cracker flower’. They sometimes like a steaming bowl of ‘egg yuck soup’. Anything with shrimp is usually good as long as it’s not the ‘snot covered shrimp with onions’. Yeah. There goes my appetite.
Well, back to my point.
For a limited time you can have a mind buffet…of sorts. No, not brains for you zombie wanna-be’s. But, for those who have yet to partake in the Epic Apocalypse box set, it is currently on sale for (get this)…less than a dollar. Can you believe that? 99 cents buys you full length novels from the likes of John O’Brien, James Cook, Shawn Chesser and Armand Rosamilia. They even let Mark Tufo toss in with these guys. As a bonus, there’s a lip smacking teaser from Joe McKinney in it as well. The only down side is, they let me put my stuff in it…sort of like that green gooey stuff over by the Sushi bar. Yes, the pistachio ice cream has turned!
This set has a little bit of everything, and for the price, you can’t lose.
So do yourself a favor. Check it out. You’ll be glad you did.
Most of you are aware by now that the World Horror Convention is going on in Portland, OR. Anybody and everybody that has anything to do with horror is converging on the city of Portland to rub elbows and hang out, have fun and network, visit with old friends and meet new ones.
While I won’t be there to enjoy the festivities, a lot of my friends and fellow authors will be. If you are close, stop by and visit them. If you are traveling there for the convention, spend some time at the different booths, but make sure you stop by May December Publishing and say hi to Todd and Denise Brown. Then swing by and give the fellas from the Epic Apocalypse set a visit too. Mark Tufo, Shawn Chesser, John O’Brien, Joe McKinney and Armand Rosamilia are manning a booth and if you are lucky, you might catch all of them at the same time.
Trust me when I say that it’s killing me inside to know that everybody is there and I’m not, but know that I’ll be there in spirit, wishing all of them the best of luck. Plans are already in place for next year in Atlanta, but alas, that’s a whole year away. Until then, if you want a set of autographed books, a Monster Squad coffee mug or bumper sticker you can find it at May December’s booth along with some other swag that I sent along to help spread the word.
So, have fun, see all of the cool things that Portland has to offer and enjoy yourself!
For those of you who may not have heard yet, Armand Rosamilia is collecting fellow author’s books to send to the troops stationed in Kuwait and Afghanistan in April. If you are an author and want to help, join this effort and then get in touch with Armand at Facebook for the address to send your copies. Let’s do something positive for someone else! And props to Joe McKinney for previously doing an event like this and seeding the idea!
Not an author and still want to support the cause? You can help with shipping costs AND get a really cool t-shirt, too! Just go to http://teespring.com/ASOT2014 and order the size you want. Don’t want a shirt, but still want to help with shipping? Reach out to Armand and he’ll get you the Paypal email address where you can donate to help.
Those of you who follow my ramblings on Facebook are already aware that the first Monster Squad book, Return of the Phoenix, has been included in a truly awesome boxed set along with five other authors. Whoever decides to take advantage of this offer will be picking up over a half million written words of some of the best horror on the market.
For those of you who haven’t already experienced the wit and wisdom of Mark Tufo, here’s your chance to dive into the first of his Zombie Fallout series. You also get to sink your teeth into John O’Brien and the first of his zombie series, Chaos. Expose yourself to the inner workings of the twisted mind of Armand Rosamilia with Darlene Bobich: Zombie Killer. You can dive into Trudge from Shawn Chesser, probably one of his best works. And one of my personal favorites is James Cook’s offering of No Easy Hope.
These are all full length works to keep you busy through the Halloween season…but there’s a catch. We’ve included a teaser from Joe McKinney’s The Dead Wait. If you’ve never read Joe’s writings, you’re not doing yourself any favors. He has a way of sucking the reader into the story and putting you on edge throughout the entire ordeal.
Now for the ‘spiel’. You get the entire boxed set for the price of a single e-book. WHY would we do this, you might ask? Where’s the catch? Are we only putting in HALF the story? No, these are the complete first books. If you ordered each of the books off of Amazon, this is what you’d get. The catch is, we’re trying to EXPOSE all of these writers to YOU the reading public. That’s why we make offers like this.
You may recall a while back when I mentioned that I ‘fell into’ a wonderful situation with a group of other authors that help promote each others work…this is that group. A mish-mash of authors from all over the country with one thing in mind…to put our stories into the hands of as many readers as we can. So, with that, I present to you, the readers, Epic Apocalypse, A Boxed Set of Apocalyptic Horror.
