Caldera 5 is LIVE!

31 May

If you didn’t take advantage of the pre-order option, you may not be aware that 5 went live last night.

It’s been less than 24 hours and…I’m already being asked for 6! It makes me laugh and cringe at the same time. I wish I could write these as fast as people read them. But alas, I can’t. However…we MAY be in luck. Kind of. Caldera 6 MAY have already been written and MAY be in the hands of the editor as you read this. I say ‘MAY’ because from here on, everything is out of my hands. I MAY have started 7, but fighting this horrible case of MAN FLU that my daughter brought home has really put a damper on things.

Anywho, I am thrilled to say that the plan is to get Flags of the Forgotten out mid-June. Hopefully in time for my birthday!! (hint-hint to the powers that be) If you’ve been hiding under a rock, then let me tell you, Flags is my crossover baby. I’ve been writing in the horror/urban fantasy genre for so long but I always wanted to try my hand at something along the lines of a political thriller. This one isn’t so much ‘political’ but the betas who test drove it said that it definitely measures up in the thriller department, so I’m running with it!

Okay, enough shameless self promotion.

Here’s a teaser for those who can’t wait for Caldera 6. It’s just the cover, but at least now you’ll know what to look for when the time comes.

Caldera 6

Thank you to all of my new readers for the feedback and the positive messages. You can’t know how much it fans my internal flame and helps drive me to keep pushing on.

Good luck and happy reading!

Maybe some of the people who are already asking for Caldera 6 are in the same boat as me. When I bought 5 I thought that was to be the end of the series. I only became aware that 6 was coming when I reached the non-conclusion of 5. Now I see mention of 7. I’m an old man and try to avoid starting books that are part of an incomplete series. How many Caldera books will there be?

For what it’s worth, you should take it as a big compliment that people read your books fast and are anxious for the next book. I have really enjoyed 1 thru 5 and I’m just hoping to finish the series before I die of old age.

Lee, I’m sorry. I wish I could give you a straight answer. Caldera 7 may even give people the wrong impression as the title is ‘The End is Near’ with Near lined out and HERE spray painted across the front. So…The End is Here sounds like it would wrap it all up, doesn’t it? Alas, it didn’t.
With most stories, I need to know the beginning and end and the middle tells itself as I write. Caldera is more than a viral zombie story, it’s a story of survival and the numerous hazards we run into along the way.
I hate to tell anybody not to read my stories as that is my bread and butter, but the truth of the matter is, I have no idea how long it will drag on. Things seem to be coming to a head…of sorts. But even I am not sure if that crescendo leads to a crash or just another wave of drama.
All I can really do is hope that you hang on for the rest of the ride and wish you good health and a long life so that we might both see the end of this tale together.
